Firewall configuration for IT admins

Whitelist Eddytor's static IP so locked-down Azure Storage accounts can be reached.

Updated Feb 10, 20261 min read

This guide is for IT administrators who need to configure network access to allow Eddytor to communicate with your Azure Storage accounts.

Overview

Eddytor is a web application that connects to your Azure Storage accounts to read and write Delta tables. If your storage accounts are protected by a firewall (which is recommended for enterprise environments), you need to whitelist Eddytor's IP address.

Eddytor IP address

77.42.8.182

This is the static IP address of the Eddytor web application. All traffic from Eddytor to your storage accounts will originate from this IP.

Verification

After configuring the firewall:

  1. Go to app.eddytor.com
  2. Sign in with your email
  3. Connect to Azure and select your storage account
  4. If configured correctly, you should see your containers

Troubleshooting

If you still experience connection issues after adding the IP:

  • Ensure the firewall rule has been saved (changes can take a few minutes to propagate)
  • Verify the IP address is entered correctly: 77.42.8.182
  • Check that Allow Azure services on the trusted services list to access this storage account is enabled if you use other Azure services
  • Ensure the user has the correct RBAC permissions

Security considerations

  • The IP 77.42.8.182 is a static IP dedicated to Eddytor
  • All communication uses HTTPS encryption
  • User authentication is handled via Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Eddytor does not store your data — it only facilitates access to your own storage accounts
